For those who got the “I will be travelling down the Zambezi River looking at a fantastic product worth selling” out-of-office response from me last week, I do apologise.
It was however worth it as I believe Ascot Tours has landed on an adventure for those who are after something different, the exact golf and safari adventure you have been waiting for.
I went to Zimbabwe with a group of friends at the invitation of River God Adventures. They are the only permitted houseboat on the Zambezi River through the wildlife-rich Mana Pools and the Lower Zambezi area.
The boat could be considered glamping and is geared for those who want to hook the elusive tiger fish. We had several keen fishermen in our group but some simply wanted to relax and just soak up the calming waters and natural surroundings. We did numerous game cruises and walks and encountered elephants, buffalo, lions, hippos and crocodiles. The staff was unbelievable and the food was high-class.
There is the possibility to combine this incredible excursion with golf on three great courses in Harare – Chapman Golf Club, Royal Harare Golf Club and Borrowdale Brook Golf Club. Or why not fly from Harare to Cape Town where we have access to some of the best courses in the world and make it a truly Southern African adventure?
