| Durban, where east meets west in this
cosmopolitan holiday city, is set in sugar country on the edge of a lush
subtropical coast. The Golf Coast stretches from north to south and is dotted
with small cluster holiday homes, hotels and luxury apartments, all set
besides river mouth lagoons and overlooking the warm Indian Ocean.
The subtropical climate is conducive to lush golf courses and the high
rainfall ensures that Durban and the Kwazulu Natal coast offers excellent
golf all year round. Water and long rough play a major part in most golf
courses in the region. Here you have a choice between private golf courses
and resort courses which each offer their own distinct feature which tells
them apart.
The Durban Country Club has until recent years competed with the Gary
Player Golf Course at Sun City for the coveted number one golf course
in South Africa. Overall, Kwazulu Natal offers a fantastic test of golf
and an experience for golfers of all handicaps. |
